permits in one hand, hammer in the other

We continue to work hard on our new home and with the permits we got this week, the workers have landed and are working hard!

While the electricians are at work, however, we are without electricity, so we've got to hit it hard during daylight hours and hope for the best weather we can get. It has been a dry winter, drier than most, for which we are thankful, as it allows for working outside and inside and there is work to be done in each! We are struggling to clear up the kitchen floor which has tile backer board on top of cement board. The previous contractors did things really strangely so that there is A LOT of adhesive on this cement board, making it a very physical chore to remove. One chip at a time, we're getting it done!
